Whirl Spicy Pork Nduja Meatballs 4

Ingredients

  • 4tbs Whirl Butter Alternative Original
  • 500g pork mince
  • 100g chopped nduja
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2 onion finely chopped
  • 4tsp dried oregano
  • 2tsp dried marjoram
  • 2 egg beaten
  • 60g panko breadcrumbs
  • Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 500ml passata
  • 4tbs tomato puree
  • 2tsp sugar
  • 100ml milk
  • 500g fettuccine, Mafalda or similar pasta cooked as per the pack instructions
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Parmesan shavings

Method

  1. Place the minced pork, nduja, 2tsp oregano, ½ the garlic and ½ the onions, breadcrumbs and eggs into a large bowl and mix well. Season with a little sea salt and pepper. Divide the mix into 20 meatballs.

  2. Heat 2tbs Whirl Butter Alternative in a large skillet and pan fry the meat balls for about 10 minutes, turning to brown all the sides turn out onto a plate.

  3. Heat the remaining Whirl Butter Alternative in the same pan and sauté the rest of the garlic and onion for about 3 minutes to soften.

  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, passata, oregano, marjoram, sugar and milk and simmer for about 7-10 minutes until thickened slightly. Season with a little sea salt and pepper.

  5. Put the meatballs into the sauce to warm through.

  6. Serve with the cooked pasta and garnish with parmesan shavings and fresh basil leaves.
