Ingredients
- 25g Original Whirl
- 300g basmati rice
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 white onions chopped
- 1tsp ground turmeric
- 3-4cm cinnamon stick
- 3 bay leaves
- 4 cardamon pods
- 600ml boiling water
- Salt and white pepper to taste

Method
Heat the Whirl Butter Alternative over low to medium heat and sauté the garlic, onion, bay leaves, cinnamon, turmeric and cardamom pods for about 5 minutes to soften, but not brown.
Add the rice and stir to coat with the spices, then pour in the boiling water. Turn to the lowest heat, cover and cook for 8 minutes until all the water has been absorbed.
Turn the heat off completely and leave the rice to steam for a further 5 minutes then it will be ready to use.
