AAK Hillside BRC Audit Rating Upgraded GRAPHIC

This August, in an annual audit by the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, the AAK Foodservice Hillside, New Jersey plant received an excellent score of ‘AA’, a higher rating than last year’s ‘A’ rating. The practices and procedures that were implemented last year combined with the full team involvment, really paid off. The award acknowledges the dedication and commitment of our management and employees, who work so hard to uphold the highest standards in all areas.

The Hillside operations team, led by James Arcila, Site Director, Marie Percevault, Quality Assurance Manager and Carmen Oswago, Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist, with the support of the entire Foodservice US team, managed the comprehensive 3 ½ day audit. About half of that time was spent on the production floor to evaluate our processes and the rest of the time was spent looking through documentation and reviewing procedures. Our commitment to supplying high quality, safe products to our customers, resulted in achieving the highest standard in food safety.

In order to maintain compliance and continue to excel in our safety practices, we plan on continuing frequent and thorough internal assessments, with the goal of being “audit ready” at all times, in preparation for the unannounced BRC audit next year. The bar has been set!
