Whirl Patatas Bravas

- 1tbs Whirl butter alternative
- 2tbs Lion Original Piri Piri Hot Sauce
- 1 onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 1tbs tomato puree
- 1tsp smoked paprika
- Pinch of sugar
- 1kg peeled potatoes cut into 2cm chunks
- Sea salt and black pepper
Heat the Whirl in a large sauce pan and sauté the onions and garlic to soften, but not brown, about 3 minutes.
Stir in the Lion Original Piri Piri Hot Sauce, tomatoes, tomato puree, smoked paprika and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened slightly and pulpy.
Meanwhile heat the oil in a deep fryer to 160°C (preferably olive oil) and deep fry the potatoes for 5 minutes drain and cool slightly.
Turn up the fryer to 180°C and fry for a further 5 minutes till golden and crisp, then place in a deep bowl, pour over the hot sauce and serve.
