Vegan Smokey Mayo added to Rapsona range
15th April 2021
We have added a Smokey Mayo to our Rapsona range of vegan mayonnaises, dressings and seasonings to help caterers meet the growing demand for plant-based menu items.
With a subtle smokey flavour, this creamy mayo is great for grilled dishes, sandwiches and salads, and is heat stable, meaning it can be served in hot dishes.
Free from egg and dairy, it is made from potato starch and Swedish pressed rapeseed oil, making it perfect for those following a plant-based diet.
Christine Menzel, Rapsona’s Brand Manager, commented:
“Our new Smokey Mayo is incredibly versatile. Bringing a chargrilled flavor to food, it adds creamy texture to plant-based burgers, such as Portebello mushroom, and can be used in sandwiches, mixed into a potato salad or served on the side as a dip for French fries. Although it’s vegan, it can also be used with meat and fish, making it a multi-functional addition to any kitchen.
“The Smokey Mayo is our latest launch in response to the growing demand for trend-led, plant-based sauces and dressings. There’s an increasing awareness amongst consumers about health and the environment, resulting in more people choosing to eat plant-based foods. Our range of vegan mayonnaises, dressings and seasonings complement a variety of proteins, helping caterers meet this growing demand with ease.”
Vegan Smokey Mayo is available in 850g bottles. Rapsona’s Vegan range also includes Mayo, Garlic Dressing, Burgerdressing, Bearnaise, Rhode Island, Coleslaw, Sweet Chili Sauce, Bibimbap Sauce and Sticky Korean Sauce – all made with rapeseed oil.
A natural source of vitamins E and K and containing essential fatty acids such as Omega-6 and Omega-3, rapeseed oil has a healthy fat composition. It contains less saturated fat than other vegetable oils and has a high proportion of polyunsaturated fat.
